About Me

When I graduated from college I knew I wanted to travel, but I really couldn’t pull that whole “sell all my things and go on the road” method… after all I had nothing to sell. So with each job interview I asked the load bearing question, do you allow travel? And finally, there it was, the perfect opportunity… consulting!

My first assignment was actually back in my families home town of Michigan and I traveled there every Mon- Thurs for a 4 months! While this is not quite what I had in mind, I then started to use my fly backs (when I would fly home) to my advantage….

The first place I went to was Chicago, for my 23rd birthday! I went here alone because many of my friends were not able to travel at the time. I couch surfed, and it was interestingly amazing, if you have not heard about it check out my post here.

From Chicago I then went to NYC and while I did couch surf here as well I realized that it would be much more fun if I could get my friends to travel as well… and that is when it started… I had to figure out cheaper ways to travel.

Over the past few years, I have gotten my friends to travel with me and vise versa all over the world, from Japan to Belize, all while making sure we were getting a bang for our buck. So while many people are stuck on the fact that they believe “travel is expensive” I would like to think I have cracked the code to show that you can get around without breaking the bank.

Four years later, here I am sharing everything I learned with you & providing some great travel tips while doing it!

If there is anything in particular you would like to hear about just drop me a note and I will see what I can do!
