Aruba- a paradise located in the Caribbean Sea. It’s renowned for its white and soft sand, crystalline blue water and a rich flora & fauna. Here are some things to see once you arrive in this spectacular destination.
Baby Beach
It’s located in the southern part of the Aruba Island and is being one of the famous beaches in the Caribbean Sea. The beach is unique due to its layout, having the shape of a half-moon. It’s a calm lagoon that attracts a lot of tourists due to its crystalline blue water and the activities they can practice here.
As the title says, it’s an important beach for families with children. In terms of things tourists can do, the Baby Beach is a great place for snorkeling and swimmers. You can rent a snorkel gear for an acceptable price near the lagoon.
Aruba’s National Park Arikok
The National Park of Aruba compromises approximatively 18% of the island. Anyone can explore the park, no matter if they choose to do it by themselves or with a guide.
The park conserves a rich flora and fauna. The most widespread eco-types of flora are the xeric-shrubland and the candelabra cactus. In terms of local fauna, there are numerous lizards and snakes. Tourists are invited to explore the Aruba’s vistas, the dessert hills, the park’s coastline and take part at different educational and informative programs.
The protected area was officially founded in 2000. It boasts with numerous sites that preserve the Aruba’s history. Some of them are the rock paintings left by the Caquetio Indians in Cunucu Arikok and Fontein Cave.
The National Park of Aruba is open all year round, from Monday to Sunday, between 8 Am till 4 PM. The entry ticket costs 11 US Dollars/person and 28 US Dollars for a year pass.
Eagle Beach
It was nominated by TripAdvisor as the 2nd Best Caribbean Beach and 3rd Best Beach Worldwide in 2017. It’s the largest beach in Aruba and perhaps the most popular one for its soft white sand and sparkling Caribbean blue water.
The beach is equipped with huts, picnic areas and offers some motorized water sports. The authorities mark a few months per year the Eagle Beach with red and white lines to protect the turtle nests.
Also, the Eagle Beach boasts with the most photographed fofoti trees in Aruba.
Bubali Bird Sanctuary
It was initially established as a “breeding zone”, but soon attracted numerous birds that were looking for lush vegetation. Today, the protected area conserves over 80 species of migratory birds. These are: cormorants, herons, egrets, gulls, skimmers, coots, ducks and more.
Located near the Eagle Beach, the Bubali Bird Sanctuary offers spectacular bird watching options. Make sure you took the camera, because usually birds are randomly flying above the observation tower and create an amazing show.
